Ordinarily, when we see stories about someone catching a giant catfish, it’s up at Texoma, or some swamp in Louisiana. But this time, it was a river near…Barcelona, Spain. An eight foot, 214-pound catfish was pulled out of the water NOT by an experienced angler, but rather by a blind 56-year-old grandmother from London, on vacation with her family. Sheila Penfold was using halibut pellets for bait, and according to the London Daily Mail, she was nearly dragged into the water by the aquatic beast. But no catfish fry at the Penfold house…because after having her picture taken with it, she rolled it back into the water and let it go.
