A group is pushing for an end to the frustration that often comes for drivers because of all the one-way streets in downtown Dallas.
John Crawford with Downtown Dallas Incorporated says the one-way street system in downtown doesn’t really work anymore, and as result, he and others believe it’s time for the thoroughfare committee to go ahead with a plan to make several streets two-way.  Crawford says there’s no issue of funding the changes, which he says will make downtown more inviting and easier to navigate.
The plan will be discussed at City Hall on Thursday.
Crawford says contracts to change the signs along part of Akard, Field, Federal and Patterson could be awarded by September, which would mean the work would be done and the streets made two way by next year.
