The number of lengthy airport delays is way down since the new federal rule took effect in late April.
The first report is out showing only five flights with long delays, and four of those were United Airlines flights to Denver on May 26th involving severe weather.
The federal Transportation Department rule took effect April 29th. The 5 long delays is down from 35 during the same period last year.
Industry-wide, the on time arrival rates for the month of May has Hawaiian and Alaska Airlines as the only ones topping the 90-percent mark. Southwest was on-time 80% of the time, American nearly 77-percent.
Continental was on time 82.5%.
