Bill  Hedgpeth with the Mesquite Police Department tells KRLD officers made the discovery in the home off Bandera near Belt Line and Pioneer just after midnight.  When officers got to the house they found the body of a 52 year-old man upstairs, and a 46 year-old woman downstairs.
The man has been identified as Godfrey Spain who had apparently hanged himself. The woman was identified as Irene Haggerty and had signs of blunt force trauma. The couple had two children, a 15 year-old and a 7 year-old.  They were not home at the time.

My daughter worked with the lady. When she received the phone call about what had happened to this lady she was. Very upset.I never knew this young lady on a personal matter, but I knew her just from my daughter talking about her. I thank God that the children wasn’t home at the time this all took place. It is well after mid-night now and she is still up.My child is usually in bed by 9pm.I will stay up with her as long as it takes. I will pray for this family and ask God to help them through the most difficult time in their lives.
