Drivers taking the ramp from westbound Woodall Rodgers to northbound Stemmons are confronted with the billboard right at eye-level. But Clear Channel says their billboard was approved for that very location by City Hall as a replacement for one that came down as part of DART’s Green Line construction. Leppert, though, is upset that the sign is unusually close to the freeway and right in the way of what city planners hope will be a view of downtown and the under construction Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge. Leppert says the placement undermines  the effort to build what he calls “…enthusiasm and excitement…” for downtown Dallas.  After hearing from the mayor, Clear Channel says they’re confident that a compromise can be reached.
