Authorities are working to determine if a half-dozen suspicious white powder envelopes that made it to churches and businesses in North Texas were sent by the same person.
Six envelopes arrived at St. Joseph Catholic Church, First Baptist Church and a mosque in Richardson, and the powder also forced evacuations at businesses in Irving, Grand Prairie and at Love Field in Dallas. Tests have determined that the powder was not hazardous, but postal inspector Amanda McMurry says the mailings are now at a lab for follow-up testing. Postal Inspectors are now trying to figure out if the white powder envelopes were sent by the same person, or if yesterday’s rash was a coincidence. McMurry says they receive at least one report per day here in North Texas of a suspicious mailing.
