The Dallas City Council will hear City Manager, Mary Suhms, proposed budget today…and it doesn’t look too good for some city employees. She’s not recommending an increase in property taxes, but she is proposing to slash 440 jobs from parks and libraries and reducing the hours at Recreation center. Many employes including Firefighters and Police would have to take furlough days and a cut in pay. Some City Council members are fighting for a tax increase instead of the cuts. You can voice your opinion on the budget at town hall meetings in various locations in Dallas. Click here to find out a schedule of the meetings.
