Republicans use President Obama’s visit to Texas to bring supporters of smaller government to the State Capitol for a rally. Lewisville City Councilman Lathan Watts says Democratic Party big government just won’t fly here in the Lone Star State. “No matter how much money the President raises and spends here the Democrats will not take Texas.” Democratic Party Spokeswoman Kirsten Gray wonders why Republicans are so focused on Washington DC in a state election year. She says the answer might be that the Texas Democratic message is turning votes and that scares Republicans. “Their realizing that Texas Democrats are winning over voters and not just Democrats but moderates and independent Republicans as well.”
But Watts says when the smoke clears in November Democrats will be in the same place they are now, in the minority.
