Commissioners have given their preliminary okay to a tax rate hike of nearly two-and-a-half cents per 100-dollars of valuation.  Commissioner Hugh Coleman was the only “no” vote, saying, with the way the economy is going, the county has to everything possible without raising taxes.  The Commissioners Court will take its final official vote on the budget and tax rate on September 7th.
