She tried to beat a train to the crossing in Arlington this morning. Just before 1 a.m. Care-Flite was called to the railroad crossing on Bowen, between Division and Norwood, about a half-mile west of the U-T Arlington campus. The woman’s car was demolished in the impact and she had to be pried from the wreckage. It looked real bad and she was flown to JPS Hospital in Fort Worth with multiple broken bones and other injuries. But Arlington police believe she will survive. Investigators suggest she had been drinking, so charges could be in the works.
