Witnesses are angry but JPS Hospital says doctors did everything they could to save a man who collapsed in the hospital’s pharmacy this week. The man was waiting to pick up a prescription when he slumped in his chair. Other patients called for help but some of them claim it took ten minutes before a doctor arrived. The witnesses also say two defibrillators did not appear to be working. But JPS System CEO Robert Earley says hospital staffers did everything they could to resuscitate the man. He also insists at least one of the defibrillators was in working order but he promises an investigation to determine what happened.
