Today on Monday’s show, Ernie spoke with CBS 11′s Arezow Doost on her report about 71-year-old Jackie Kimbrell of Ferris, TX and how the city has plans to demolish her home.

Jackie has lived in the house since ’81. The home was originally built back around 1912, but government affairs sees the house as an eyesore and has plans to demolish it. Even though grandson Joey, spends his free time fixing up what he can to the house, officials say that it is not structurally safe to live in and concerned about her living there.

I hope someone will help this poor woman. Has anyone checked to see if the house would qualify for a historical home since it was built in 1912? Thank you.

I live in Ferris. I would hate it if they decide to condemn my home because something is wrong with it. She is 71 years old. I do hope she gets the help that she needs. Where is she going to live if they bulldoze her home down? I hope that someone helps her. We people in Ferris should want to help the community not get rid of them.

Personally I do not think that something this ladies grandkids have been in trouble for have anything to do with her. She is an innocent victim not them. Besides family violence can mean that a couple had an argument that got a bit out of hand. I have seen family violence charged on someone for something that was alleged and not even true. Shame on you for judging these people so quickly!

We have started a group to help Jackie save her house. BUT IT WILL TAKE PEOPLE LIKE YOURSELF! A group of engineers, contactors, and supliers like Lowe’s and Home Depot have donated their time, money and experience to help her, but the City denied their plea. After all, this is a Main Street Town and should be saving all the old houses possible. We need voices and bodies! Jackie has been told that the house will be taken down on 12-1, great holiday idea!
