More Air Monitoring Stations In Barnett Shale

State officials say they’ll add 8 more air quality monitoring stations in the Barnett Shale of north Texas.  That will more than double the number of stations checking air quality around gas wells.  Fort Worth Mayor Mike Moncrief says the City of  Fort Worth will continue it’s own independent monitoring of the air.   State Senator Wendy Davis wants assurances the monitors will be paid for by the natural gas industry and not Texas taxpayers.  Data from the new monitors will be available 24/7 to anyone who wants it.
