Cooling Station Helps Save Postal Carrier
Salvation Army cooling stations in DFW get a big “thank you” from a postal carrier. Dwayne Neal has been delivering mail to the Salvation Army cooling station in Irving for 11 years. But last year he knew he needed to head there himself.
He drove himself to the cooling station on Grauwyler, but collapsed seconds after he got there. Jackie Bridges is with the Salvation Army. He was rushed to the hospital for treatment. Neal says at the time he didn’t know how serious his heat illness was. He credits the cooling station with saving his life.
