Ft. Worth has okayed more red light cameras effective October 1st.  Ten more intersections will be added to the existing 35 camera locations.
In Houston the impetus is in the opposite direction. A vote on banning the cameras will be held in November now that the city council’s certified  a petition with 20-thousand signatures.   Houston has 70 cameras at 50 intersections and the city has issued nearly 800,000 tickets and collected nearly $44 million in fines since 2006.
