0824 ballpark parachute2 Parachutist Snagged At Rangers Ballpark

A man hanging from the flagpole. You don’t see it every day but Rangers fans witnessed just that at the Ballpark in Arlington last night. The U-S Army’s sky-diving team the Golden Knights were invited to show their stuff before Tuesday evening’s game with the Twins. All went fine until the last minute as the parachutists were approaching the stadium. North winds gusting over 20 miles-an-hour played havoc with the Golden Knights’ normally flawless precision and one of the soldiers found himself dangling from a flagpole near the Dr Pepper sign at the top of the scoreboard, just about the highest pinnacle at the Ballpark. He was okay and was able unbuckle his harness, allowing him to drop a few feet to a platform on the scoreboard. Workers quickly secured the parachute and the game went on as scheduled. Afterward, the soldier told Fox Sports Southwest it was “…a minor incident…” and that he was “…perfectly fine.”
