Fed Denied Bond, Accused of Threatening Wife and Boss
A judge denied bond for a former FBI agent accused of making death threats against his estranged wife and the head of the Dallas FBI office.
The Judge ruled in federal court that Carlos Ortiz is a danger to the community and ordered his detainment until trial.
Ortiz faces a charge of threatening to assault or murder a federal law enforcement officer. He is accused of telling a friend he was going to kill his wife, a bureau analyst, and Dallas FBI Special Agent in Charge Robert E. Casey Jr.
His father and girlfriend told reporters Ortiz is not violent and blamed his firing and arrest on his estranged wife.
