High school football starts tonight in North Texas and temperatures under those Friday Night Lights will be fairly moderate with kick-off temperatures maybe 90 degrees or lower in Dallas-Fort Worth. Just five days ago, our high at DFW Airport was a record-tying 107. Mercuries are starting out in the mid-60s this morning and the National Weather Service expects drier air and the remains of this week’s cold front will keep the weekend weather pretty mild. Next week, we’ll be, once again, pushing close to triple-digit highs. The average date for the final 100-degree day of the year is August 25th. But the latest date for triple digits was in 1951 when the mercury hit 100-degrees on October 3rd.
