Dallas Traffic Deputies Beg To Keep Jobs

countycommissionerssmall Dallas Traffic Deputies Beg To Keep JobsA standing room only crowd didn’t appear to sway Dallas County Commissioners who are set to approve a budget next week that eliminates the traffic division in the constable’s office.

Some of the 80 deputies that would be fired showed up to address commissioners. Some deputies claimed they were on the chopping block in retaliation for blowing the whistle on corruption in the offices of some constables.  Commissioners will vote next Tuesday on budget that includes eliminating the traffic enforcement deputies and three employees in the District Attorney’s office.

The Dallas County Commissioners are a bunch of bumbling buffoons! People do not follow the traffic laws now, what will the idiots do when there is NO police? As a citizen, the first time I got hit by someone running a red light i would sue the commisioners and the constable for failure to carry out assigned duties and responsibilities – enforcement of traffic laws! Here in Garland, our idiot police chief will not enfore any traffic laws without a bribe from the feds (i.e. a “grant” for the enforcement.)

Better late than never…but a good reply (and I’m glad they lost the traffic enforcement role). The Constables office is not supposed to be a traffic enforcement agency. It is appointed to carry out orders of the court, serve papers, warrants, and other related tasks. Not sit on a side street and laser people all day. There was a backlog of tens of thousands of warrants and other papers that needed to be served, without the “manpower” to do it… while at the same time, constables are rolling around in maxed out traffic pursuit vehicles, with the latest speed measuring/ticket printing technology in their cars.

It would be akin to your mailman doing drug raids on houses if they smelled weed…all the while your mail was weeks late because they didn’t have the manpower to deliver it.
