It’s the strongest evidence yet that second-hand cigarette smoke is bad for kids.  A Scottish study shows that smoking bans spare many kids with asthma from being hospitalized.

The finding suggests smoke-free laws have a bigger health impact than previously thought. This report is the largest of its kind and shows a 13% drop in asthma-related hospitalizations in the first year after a smoking ban was imposed in Scotland. Previous U.S. studies had reached similar conclusions.

The new report’s being published today. Find out more by clicking here.
