A Mansfield man faces life in prison for killing a man he claimed assaulted his wife during a neighborhood party in 2008. Yesterday, a Tarrant County jury found Kory Nelson Turner guilty of murder for the shooting death of Leonard Keith. During the trial, Turner testified that he threw Keith out of his house after Keith cornered his wife in their kitchen. Turner said he was protecting his wife and accidentally shot Keith when he suddenly came back to the Turner’s home. The jury didn’t see it that way. The punishment phase of the trial begins Monday morning.
