Tests Show Man in Custody Died From Meth Intoxication

Tests show the Arlington man who collapsed while under arrest in Coppell last month died from taking methamphetamine. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner ruled that Steven Irwin’s August 20th death was an accident. Irwin was arrested early that morning when he became ill, beginning to shake and perspire heavily. As he grew combative, officers restrained him and that’s when he spit out a small plastic bag. He died about an hour later at the hospital.
