In a 6 to 1 vote, Dallas ISD superintendent was not selected to become the top administrator in the Clark County, Nevada school district. Dallas School Superintendent Michael Hinojosa will be staying in Dallas after all. Hinojosa was being considered for the top job in Las Vegas, the center of the Clark County School District. But Wednesday evening, the Clark County trustees voted to offer the job to the other finalist, Colorado Education Commissioner Dwight Jones. Last week, when it was clear Hinojosa was in the running for the Las Vegas job, the Dallas school board narrowly voted to offern Hinojosa a three-year contract extension. He has not formally accepted that offer but it remains on the table.
