The Sansom Park Police Department was mostly decimated when three officers were fired last week and Police Chief Tony White was put on forced leave, and last night, some taxpayers showed up at City Hall to find out why. The city council was meeting behind closed doors so residents were forced to cool their heels in the parking lot where they were more than happy to speak with reporters. The mayor has said there were allegations of sexual harassment and other violations of policies, but residents who’ve worked closely with the fired officers have their doubts about that. Sansom Park had 13 officers before the terminations, so losing three makes a big impact in a city of only 4500 people.
