A Dallas woman’s tragic death is bringing together a Dallas city council member and the Friends of the Katy Trail today. The city is being pressured to do something about the trail since the end of September when 28-year-old Lauren Huddleston was hit by a bicycle while she was out jogging. Three days later, she died from serious head injuries. Her death has reignited a simmering feud between the bicyclists and those who run or walk the trail. Parts of the Katy Trail have paths to keep pedestrians and bicyclists separate but other stretches force the two groups to share a single pathway. Today, representatives from Friends of the Katy Trail will meet with council member Angela Hunt to discuss options.
