Transgender Student Not On Homecoming Court

North Dallas High School will not have a transgender homecoming queen this year.  Transgender Andy Moreno wanted to run for homecoming queen, but Principal Dinnah Escanilla told her last week she could only run for king. Moreno was born a male, but now identifies as a female. She was not among nominees announced yesterday, and she says it wasn’t because she didn’t have enough votes. Moreno is now working with the activist group, Queer Liberaction, about possible legal representation and a public protest of the decision.

I’m sorry but where’s the confusion? Are transgender people are so confused they cannot even tell the difference between a male and a female? I’m not trying to be insensitive, it’s just that’s it’s so simple. If you’ve got male genitalia you’re a guy, if you’ve got female genitalia you’re a girl. If this high school boy wants to be identified as a girl, then he needs to go through all the ‘changing’ including his birth records, etc. but even then, he’s still going to be a guy because he still won’t have female reproductive organs. I’m so confused!
