Plano, Texas has been voted the safest city in America by Forbes magazine. They looked at fatal car crashes and violent crimes to determine the number one city. Mayor Phil Dyer credits their first place ranking to a great police department and an active citizenry. Portland, Oregon finished 2nd while Honolulu, Hawaii finished 3rd. And a surprise on the list? New York City finished 6th.
