Young Girl Charged in Parents' Murder

A 12-year-old Garland girl will be tried next year for the murder of her mother and stepfather. Judge Bill Mazur’s set January 24th for the jury trial, which was requested by the girl’s court-appointed attorney.

Her 13-year-old boyfriend is also facing capital murder charges in the shooting deaths of Alan and Darlene Nevil. The boy’s public defender and the D.A. are still talking about his trial date.

The youngster’s are still being held at the Dallas County Juvenile Detention Center. To set their trial date five months after the crime is unusual, but Judge Mazur said no earlier date was available that fit everyone’s schedules. The charges carry potential 40-year sentences.  The youths are not being named publicly because of their ages.

Hope we’re not jumping to conclusions here David.
What if we find out that the girls mom and stepdad have been sexually molesting her since she was 4 years old?
What if xrays reveal that she as lived a liftime of severe physical abuse?
What if we found that she was forced to walk the street corners since she was 10 in order to buy her mo0m’s drugs?
    Happy jumping!

  • So Sad.....

@GBdaemon – no matter what these parents “Could Have” done, does NOT give these CHILDREN any right to decide who dies. Maybe you need some mental help…..

that’s true, however, I think he was trying to point out that she might have a mental state that may have been caused by these horrible treatments, if indeed anything has happened, that would have pushed her to the point of doing something like this…remember, she is only 13..if you are not a female and if you have never been in a situation of abuse, you cannot know what it can do to you..and your thinking or lack of ability to think correctly..I cannot imagine a child doing something like this…she is damaged for sure…I for one will pray for her
