After several years on a downward trend, divorce is on its way back up in North Texas. In January, nearly 850 Dallas County couples filed for divorce. By March, that number climbed to nearly 1400. North Texas divorce attorney Ike Vanden Eykel says the recession caused divorces to dip in the area, but now that the economy is recovering, filings have increased. He also says that at the height of the recession, divorce rates were down more than 20 percent nationwide.
