The Department of Public Safety has a new way to keep more troopers on the road and ensure tickets don’t get lost in the shuffle. So much for hoping a trooper loses that paper ticket before he gets it to court. “Back in the old days, about three or four months ago, a trooper would hand deliver a stack of tickets to whatever court they had been writing tickets for.” But these are the new days says DPS Spokeswoman Tela Mange when tickets are downloaded daily electronically to the courts. She says in those courts who had testing this they’ve saved 20 hours of work a week per court. This isn’t statewide yet but more and more courts are starting this program.
