Drugs Caused Death Of Tasered Dallas Man

DALLAS (AP) – A coroner says toxic levels of cocaine, PCP and Ecstasy caused the accidental death of a robbery suspect after Dallas police shocked him with a Taser.

The report from the Dallas County medical examiner’s office involves the Sept. 12 death of 30-year-old Freddie Lee Lockett.

The Dallas Morning News, for its Wednesday editions, reported a Taser was used on Lockett at least six time in an attempt to subdue the fleeing suspect while he acted erratically.

Officers handcuffed Lockett, then took him to an ambulance. The medical examiner’s report says Lockett went into respiratory arrest about 21 minutes after the last use of the Taser.

Lockett had previous convictions for drug manufacturing and delivery.

Ya right.Next you are going to tell me that the cops bullets don’t kill eather.

    1. les says:

let’s just do away with tazers and use bullets

  2. Mr Black says:

You mean you wasted news space to tell us this? Most of the junkies that die in taser incidents are high to the gills on coke or crack. of course, you have idiots who think it’s the officer’s fault that the criminal is full of drugs.

    1. CantStandStupid says:

I think those idiots = druggies and criminals

  3. Rodan says:

Feel sorry for the family, but he brought it upon himself. One less problem on the street.

  4. CHARLES ESTRADA says:

    1. les says:

  7. Lee Lee says:

If you freak out when you are around cops, you will get shocked. I applaud the police here. When someone is that out of control, you have to get that control back somehow for the safety of the officers and any bystanders. What if he had run into YOUR house high on all those drugs and freaked out with your kids around? Would you still feel sorry for him? I feel for the family, but not for him.

Vietnam Vet or not – you take drugs –> you freak out –> you go down. The simple solution is to NOT take the drugs. Then you don’t get tasered. End of story.

    1. Stoshio says:

Lee Lee hit the nail on the head. Another instance of illicit drugs causing bad things to happen. Stay off drugs, do what law enforcement officers tell you to do and you’ll be fine.

  8. vicki d says:

There have been numerous people tazered by not only DPD who WERE NOT ON DRUGS. They had a heart condition and being tazered can cause death in that case.

    1. Stoshio says:

Okay, then they should have done what the law enforcement officers told them to do and they wouldn’t have died due to being tasered. Any more excuses?

    2. Amanda says:

Then don’t do things to get yourself tasered. Comply.

  9. Flintstone says:

Really the drugs caused his death? I doubt that very much, as if he was NOT tasered… he would of went about his life and the drugs would have gone. THe taser caused his death, the drugs were simply a factor

    1. Stoshio says:

Hey Flintstone, your comments aren’t very lucid and are extremely hard to follow. You may know what you want to express but nobody else does because we can’t understand your ramblings. Why don’t you try again.

    2. Amanda says:

Flintstone, you want someone like that around your family, your neighbors, in your yard, home or place of business? He was out of control .

  10. CantStandStupid says:

Wow. Even after the report of non-biased coroner comes out stating what most of us educated people already knew, there are still the idiots who want to believe it was the taser that killed this criminal. What would it take to convince you? Not that it really matters, but I’m just curious.
