KRUM (CBSDFW.COM) – Two teenage girls are dead after a four-vehicle crash Thursday night in Denton County. The incident happened at about 7:00 p.m. along U.S. Highway 380, west of Nail Road, just south of Krum.

DPS investigators say 17-year-old Samantha Rogers and 15-year-old Delaney Mancil, both of Alvord, died instantly.

According to Lonny Haschel with the Texas Department of Public Safety, three vehicles – a Dodge pickup truck, a Mercury and a Pontiac — were heading east along the highway. A larger GMC truck was traveling west along the highway.

For reasons that have not yet been determined, the Dodge pickup truck crossed the center line and struck the GMC truck. That GMC truck then lost control, sideswiped the Mercury and then plowed head-on into the Pontiac.

No One else was transported to the hospital and police have not said if any criminal charges will be filed in the case.
