FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) –   There are still some left over showers east of I-35 this evening.  But skies are clearing to the west.  The cold front is approaching Houston where temperatures are in the upper 70s.  We, however, have temperatures in the low 40s and upper 30s.

The coldest night of the season is coming tonight.  Skies are clearing from west to east this evening and dry, cold air continues to move into North Texas.  Temperatures will drop into the mid to upper 20s areawide tonight.  Many areas will have several hours below freezing.  From 11pm until 8am some locations will have below freezing temperatures.

Those folks waiting in line at the stores Friday morning will want to come in the full winter wear.  Temperatures will be in the 20s at 3am, 4am and 5am.  Lots of sunshine on Friday but a cool day as temperatures will only warm into the low 50s in the afternoon.

A nice sunny weekend on tap with a gradual warming trend.  There will be another freeze for most areas early Saturday morning and then temperatures will warm into the upper 50s Saturday afternoon.  A low pressure system will quickly streghen over Colorado on Sunday and winds will be rather strong out of the south on Sunday.  This will warm our temps into the 60s Sunday afternoon.

That same low pressure system in Colorado will send another strong cold front our way on Monday.  A few spotty showers will be possible on Monday, but cold air returns to the area Tuesday with another freeze possible by Wednesday morning.
