We learned today that CBS11/KTVT’s first on-air meteorologist died today.  Howard McNeil was 90 years old when he passed away over the weekend.  He was with channel 11 before heading over to channel 5 to work with weather pioneer Harold Taft.  McNeil returned to Channel 11 eventually and stayed until 1981.

It’s important for us in the weather department to pause and remember those who paved the road for what we do today.  Our thoughts and prayers are with McNeil’s family.
