IRVING (105.3 THE FAN) - So here come the Redskins.  A meaningless game from the standpoint of the playoffs, but as we told you a few weeks ago, there is the all important 2011 schedule issue, right?

Dallas is within a game of the Redskins in the NFC East standings with 3 games to play.  Of course, the Redskins won the opener, courtesy of a couple of plays which defined the season…the Tashard Choice fumble/strip at the end of the half which cost the Cowboys a touchdown, and the Alex Barron holding call on the play that would have tied the game with no time left.  Oh, how those plays loom huge three months later.

But remember that if the Cowboys “hang on” to last place in the East, they would get the last place schedule next season, meaning games with the Lions and Panthers of the world.  The Cowboys also play the NFC West next year so we are talking about a patsy schedule compared to the gauntlet of 2010.

There has been a lot of talk this week about playing the young guys down the stretch.  Find out what you have in Barry Church, Sam Young, Sean Lee and others.  The Cowboys have tip-toed away from that thought process.

Demarcus Ware said as much yesterday on 105.3 The Fan, that it is more important to try to win games.  There is a part of me that agrees with that, and especially since Jason Garrett is coaching for his NFL life.  If here were told he was coming back next season, he might coach them differently.  But it is all about wins for Garrett, and Jerry needs to have butts in seats/suites.  Don’t look for a youth movement this weekend.  It simply ain’t gonna happen.
