DALLAS (AP) – Two Vietnam War veterans whose remains were identified decades after their plane was shot down will be laid to rest in Texas.

A funeral with full military honors was scheduled Friday at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.

Air Force Col. James Dennany was 34 when his plane was shot down over Laos in November 1969.

The Defense Department’s POW/Missing Personnel Office on Wednesday also announced positive identification of the remains of 27-year-old Maj. Robert Tucci of Detroit.

Tucci was the pilot. Dennany, who was born in Mattawan, Mich., was the weapons system officer.

A search team in 1999 discovered wreckage and some human remains in the area.
