FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – Temperatures on Friday have already started to turn around from the bitter record cold that North Texas experienced on Thursday morning. Yes, Friday did still start out very cold – with temperatures in the upper teens and lower 20s instead of single digits and lower teens. But take a look outside now and you will see a big, bright sun in the sky.

Sunshine will be the predominant factor in the forecast on Friday, with high temperatures making a jump of 10 degrees each day until we are near 70 degrees on Sunday afternoon. And this warmth will continue for the next seven days, with North Texas stuck in a holding pattern. Look for temperatures near the 70s (and better) into next weekend!

But before that, we will have to contend with chilly morning temperatures this weekend. Saturday morning will see temperatures in the 20s. Sunday morning will be in the upper 30s. However, this pattern will shift to warmer morning temperatures just in time for Valentine’s Day.
