DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Some of the best tennis players in the world are making a ‘racquet’ in North Texas this week.

The 13th annual Challenger of Dallas is underway at T Bar M Racquet Club.

The United States Tennis Association (USTA) tournament is the largest professional tennis event in North Texas.

Five of the world’s top 100 players are among those competing for $50,000 in prize money.

Several of the former winners have gone on to win major titles.

There are players representing more than 40 countries at this year’s tournament.

“There’s no other pro [tennis] tournament in North America this week, so we’re real excited to have this and we’ve got a great draw,” Tournament Chair Glen Agritelley said excitedly. “Our tournament was supposed to take place the week of the Super Bowl and of course with the bad weather here in Dallas we were able to avert that and we’ve got great weather.”

Tickets are still available for matches taking place every night through Sunday.
