ARLINGTON (AP) Rangers opening day starter C.J. Wilson is already back in Texas and working out in preparation for Friday’s game.

Wilson said Tuesday he’s having no issues with a left hamstring that tightened up last week and forced him out of his last spring training start in Arizona after only two innings.

The left-hander threw a 45-pitch bullpen session Monday before flying to Texas and says everything is ready for the opener against the Boston Red Sox.

Wilson gets the opening day start a year after making the transition from the bullpen and winning a career-high 15 games.

The Rangers were in Myrtle Beach, S.C., for an exhibition game against Coastal Carolina on Tuesday night.
