ARLINGTON (AP) – The AL champion Texas Rangers have purchased the contract of right-hander Dave Bush from Triple-A Round Rock, among a series of moves to set their 25-man opening day roster.
Also Thursday, right-handers Omar Beltre, Scott Feldman and Brandon Webb were placed on the 15-day disabled list.
Bush, who spent the last five seasons in Milwaukee, went to spring training on a minor league deal. He is one of eight relievers for Texas, which opens Friday against Boston.
Right-hander Brett Tomko, trying to come back from a nerve injury in his right arm that has kept him out of the majors since 2009, was assigned to Triple-A Round Rock.
Luis Cruz signed a minor league contract and was assigned to Round Rock.
