GRAND PRAIRIE (AP) – A Dallas group that owns two teams in the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball has bought a third club.
Southern Independent Baseball LLC has acquired the Grand Prairie AirHogs.
The Dallas Morning News reported Friday that the group, operated by attorneys Gary Elliston and Scott Berry, purchased the minor league club for $1.5 million. The seller was Ventura Sports Group.
The lawyers also own the Shreveport-Bossier Captains and the Amarillo Sox.
The AirHogs open the season May 12 at home against the Gary SouthShore RailCats.
