Texas spring storms can’t stop the good times as we gear up for a great week of some of the best arts and entertainment to hit North Texas at the annual Main Street Arts Fair in Fort Worth.

Our CBS11 and TXA21 family will be LIVE from Thursday through Sunday broadcasting many of our newscasts and some special programming as well so please come out and join us! We will be talking to many of the artists and performers and don’t forget there will also be lots of great food to sample including some of our State Fair’s famous Frito Pies! It’s always a great weekend of fun for the whole family!

Wednesday we will talk to country star Billy Dean as he prepares for his appearance Thursday night at the Big D Opry in Dallas. This show was canceled during Super Bowl week as a result of the unfortunate inclement weather that hampered some of the fun events surrounding the big game but all are ready now to re-boot (perhaps re-cowboy boot?!) and two step to a really good time with the handsome crooner at the revamped venue that is family friendly and lots of fun!

The Nasher has some great new exhibits that have recently opened and I will be LIVE this week talking to the curator about a room filled entirely with gorgeous golden balloons and much more. This impressive and world recognized museum is a must see for locals and visitors alike so please tune in to see our look behind the scenes!!

The Horton Foote Festival will be wrapping up in a few weeks but many of his fine works are still being performed citywide. A Trip to Bountiful opened on Friday at the Contemporary Theater of Dallas to rave reviews – look for my interview with the talented director Rene Moreno, this week at 4p. I saw the play last week and was moved to tears several times. Great staging and performances by all – it is one of Foote’s most beloved plays and this version is definitely worth checking out! It continues through May 1st.

Next week I will take you to Disney’s PROM as some of the stars visit North Texas to help local teens at a Prom Project event in Frisco and we will preview AT&T Performing Arts Jazz Series with world renown musician David Sanborn’s upcoming performance. The combination of the beautiful state of the art AT&T PAC + Sanborn= perfection!!!

See you next time…center stage!

Sandie
