ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) – The Texas Rangers, this morning, put outfielder Josh Hamilton on the 15 day disabled list.

In a news release from the team it stated that “Hamilton suffered a non-displaced fractured his right humerus (the long bone in the arm that runs from the shoulder to the elbow.)”  Hamilton was trying to score on a foul ball play during yesterday’s game against Detroit.

The Rangers have called up Chris Davis from Round Rock (AAA) to replace Hamilton.  Davis has been tearing up AAA pitching.  He batted .429 with 4 home runs and 11 RBI in 5 games.

Davis will wear #19 and be available for today’s game against Detroit.

The Rangers need a victory today to win the series against the Tigers.  Texas is 9-2 for the season.  They are 3 games ahead of the Angels in the American League West.

Rangers General Manager Jon Daniels spoke about Josh Hamilton’s injury with Newy Scruggs on 105.3 The Fan
