FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - CBSDFW is making it easy for you to help the people affected by the wildfires in North Texas.
On Thursday and Friday, April 21 and 22, you can bring donations to our Fort Worth studios. On Friday, we’ll take them to Weatherford High School to be distributed to firefighters and evacuees in Palo Pinto County.
Here’s what they need:

• Eye drops
• Baby wipes
• Lip balm
• Sports drinks (especially sugar-free/low calorie varieties)
We’re collecting the donations between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. to noon Friday at our Fort Worth studios. The street address is:
5233 Bridge Street

Update @12 noon Thursday: We’ve gotten several donations already, but the one we just got was by far the biggest. Rick Akers came by with 75 cases of bottled water. He says he has several friends who are firefighters, and he wanted to help. Thanks, Rick, and everyone else who has donated!

Pingback: Help Firefighters And Evacuees From N. Texas Wildfires « Fort Worth News Feeds
Please start a web page that would make it possible for residents from all over Texas to help the firefighters of these frightening wild fires. I can no longer drive to make a donation but I am sure there are more people that want to help. The wildfire season has begun but it will be months before they stop.

To make donations DIRECTLY to those VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENTS who have worked to exhaustion to help PK and the surrounding area, you can go to http://www.ponderapk.com and use paypal. These contributions willl go directly to those volunteers who will need to replace and repair equipment and rely on donations to help them year after year.
This site has been providing up to the minute information since the fires began. It, too, has been operating 24/7 by volunteers who live/work at PK Lake.
The money is needed immediately and for weeks to come. Graham Savings & Loan is has also set up a fund for the volunteer firefighters.
I’ve been going to PK for over 40 years, and currently serve on the Lake Association Board of Directors. Please, these firefighters need our help.Jay
