ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) –  The Texas Rangers hammered home the fact they will be blowing through the season with an 11-6 route of the Kansas City Royals Friday night, but the other part of the festivities has to be called off because of something else blowing through.

Friday’s postgame fireworks show had to be called off because of high winds.

According to a press release from the team, the cancellation didn’t come until the top of the 9th from the Arlington Fire Department.

“The Rangers want to apologize to all of our fans for the cancellation of tonight’s fireworks show,” said Rangers CEO & President Nolan Ryan in a statement.

The team said it will offer all fans holding a ticket to Friday’s game a free ticket to selected future games in 2011.   To find out what games are available, click here.

The fireworks show will be rescheduled for June 7.  The Rangers faced a similar cancellation last July.
