CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) When NASCAR announced it was creating a Hall of Fame, Ned Jarrett made a commitment to live long enough to be inducted.
Jarrett didn’t have to wait long. He’s part of the five-member second class that will be inducted Monday night.
The class also includes 105-race winner David Pearson and 84-race winner Bobby Allison. Also in the class is Petty Enterprises patriarch and three-time Cup champion Lee Petty, as well as Bud Moore, a decorated World War II veteran and two-time Cup championship team owner.
Lee Petty is the only deceased member of the class. His introduction into the hall will be done by a video narrated by former President George H.W. Bush.
