ARLINGTON (AP) Right-handed reliever Manny Delcarmen has signed a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers.
Delcarmen was assigned Thursday to Triple-A Round Rock.
The 29-year-old Delcarmen was 2-2 with a 5.14 ERA in 18 games for Triple-A Tacoma in the Seattle organization. He went to spring training on a minor league contract, which included a clause that allowed him to ask for his release. The Mariners granted that this week.
Delcarmen was 11-6 with a 3.89 ERA and three saves in 289 relief appearances for Boston from 2005-10.
The Rangers also said Thursday that right-hander Mason Tobin had Tommy John surgery.
