FRISCO (Sports Network) – After winning just one game on the 10-game road swing to start the season, Sporting Kansas City played to a scoreless draw in its first home game on Thursday.

Then, when it hit the road again on Sunday, it earned an emphatic road win, 4-1, at FC Dallas (7-4-4) to double its win total in Major League Soccer this season.

Graham Zusi had two goals, and Aurelien Collin and Luke Sassano added one each to help Sporting (2-6-4) snap a 10-game winless run.

Zusi got things going in the 28th minute when he took control of the ball on the right wing on the counter attack, cut into the middle past a defender and slammed a shot just inside the far post.

Sporting was barely done celebrating Zusi’s first goal of the season when FC Dallas midfielder Brek Shea made it 1-1 in the 32nd minute. The speedy winger took control of the ball in the offensive third and sped past four ineffective defenders before depositing the ball past Eric Kronberg.

Sporting went back up, 2-1, in the 49th minute when a Zusi corner kick from the left flew past the goal but was volleyed back into the six-yard box by C.J. Sapong to Collin, who one-timed it home.

Zusi made it 3-1 in the 55th when he caught Dallas goalkeeper Kevin Hartman napping and struck a 45-yard free kick perfectly over his head and into the net.

Milos Stojcev earned a second yellow just a minute later, forcing Kansas City to hang onto the two-goal lead while down a man on the road for the final 34 minutes.

Not only did Sporting hang on, it added to the lead thanks to a Sassano chip over an onrushing Hartman 12 minutes from time.
