Now in its 25th year–and second at the Fair Park location–Taste of Dallas will gather culinary experts, foodies and the hungry masses at the Metroplex’s premier food and dining event on July 8 to 10, 2011.
The event will feature more than 50 local restaurants, cooking demonstrations with celebrity chefs, nightly concerts, art displays, and children’s entertainment.
Food Network’s Sara Moulton, David Bull of Bolla, Scott Romano of Charlie Palmer at The Joule, Joe Garza of The French Room and Jason Boso of Twisted Root Burger will just be some of the celebrity chefs gracing the event to highlight Dallas dining staples and signature dishes.
On Saturday, July 9, the day’s events kick off with a 5K Race and Fun Run supporting the American Heart Association. Afraid of the summer heat? Sampling booths and exhibits are split between 150,000 square feet of air-conditioned indoor space and the large outdoor esplanade at Fair Park.
Of course, Dallas’ top restaurants will be offering their culinary fare, and foodies will be glad to know that tastings are priced from $1 to $3, so they can sample a wide variety of cuisines.
Participating restaurants include:
Blue Mesa Grill
Chamberlain’s Fish Market Grill
Longhorn Bar B Que
Pierre’s Mardi Gras Café
Qdoba’s Mexican Grill
Texas de Brazil
Food will be in the spotlight at the event, but artists and musicians will be able to showcase their talent at the “Taste of Talent” contest, which will feature performers, musicians and singers. Children—and budding cooks–can also visit “Kid’s Taste Town,” for healthy food demonstrations, interactive games, petting zoo, rides and meet-and-greets with Marvel and Stars Wars characters.
