ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) – It seems every weekend lately there is at least one major freeway shutdown, and this weekend will be no exception. One of the worst spots in Arlington for construction is going to be all backed up beginning just before midnight Friday all the way through Monday at 5:00 a.m. because traffic will be forced off Highway 360 at 180/Division street.
TxDOT’s Val Lopez says the reason they’re doing this is because crews are demolishing part of a turnaround bridge and a railroad bridge, and he says that will allow them to begin putting in service roads that currently aren’t there.
Lopez says northbound traffic will be forced off at Abram Street. Southbound traffic will have to get off the freeway at Division. Alternate routes are highly recommended with the Arlington entertainment district expecting another busy weekend. The whole project should be done at the end of next year.
